"Siphonaptera", a poem by Augustus De Morgan:

   | Big fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,              |
   | And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so, ad infinitum.              |
   | And the great fleas, themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on; |
   | While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.    |

Siphonaptera is the latin word for "flea", from the Greek, "siphon", a tube, "a-", a prefix for "without", and "ptera", "wings". A tube without wings!

De Morgan was a very well-known 19th century mathematician, and apparently a poet as well!
